Artist Statement
Who am I you ask? Thanks for asking. I appreciate that. Well I know you probably don't want my life's story so let me give you some insight into why I'm doing this.
Let's get right down to it. I'm mainly doing this for my own fulfillment, but also for my friends and family that have supported me in chasing my dreams. I owe it to myself and to them to accomplish what I set out to do. I've always wanted to be a part of something great, more specifically I want to contribute to something that I love that others love too. But why this career path specifically you ask? Well golly gee I'll tell you!
I love the fantastical, the impossible, the larger than life, and I love to create. I find enjoyment in creating a cohesive work of art by taking things that inspire me, interpreting them and creating something new from it. I love to create. We will get a little anime villain here and say I want to create a better world, a beautiful world. You see, fufufu, I've always found the world we live in to be boring and it sucks a lot sometimes. But I'll tell you one thing, it's inspiring. Matter of fact, inspiration is what drives me. I feel that I always had a keen eye for the things I find visually appealing and the creativity to express it. I have ideas and I want to bring them to life. But I want to also help bring the ideas of others to life. I want to make things that I think look cool, but that others also find cool too. I want to make something that a lot of people enjoy and appreciate. So this something? What is It? Characters!
I love designing characters, I love making characters. Why? Erm well,
I like the idea of creating a personality, dissecting that personality and creating an appealing visual design based off of that personality's traits, especially in the context of a world that character resides in. But You might be asking, what kind of medium do you want to use to channel your art?
I've always been inspired by the characters and experiences that video games provide. Ever since I was a kid, I have liked how immersive video games are compared to other forms of media (No, I'm not a fan of VR sorry). I've played video games my whole life. I know becoming a game artist was what I was always meant to do, and I can't see myself doing anything else and enjoying it. It has been my life's mission. Which is why I always try my hardest. This stuff matters to me in a way I can’t fully express.

Artist Roadmap
1. If you could project out past graduation, what is your overall career goal?
If I were to look past graduation, my overall career goal is to work at a AAA or indie game studio as a character artist. Its been a life dream to contribute to a project that is loved and enjoyed by thousands if not millions of people. I don't care how big the studio is, but a mid-large team would be nice as I would be less likely to wear multiple hats. It another big dream and goal of mine is to help contribute to bringing a game character to life that is or becomes a cult classic that is beloved by many. I would prefer not to work in the theme part industry or for a simulation company but considering the state of the game industry, I will take what I can get so long as I can do some 3D modeling.
2. If you could project out into starting your career, what sounds the most appealing to you?
What sounds most appealing to me is starting out as a character artist. becoming a character artist is my ultimate goal but if I have to start out as something else like a prop / weapon artist then so be it. I think modeling weapons would be pretty cool, but id much rather make the character holding the weapon. I've never had an interest in modeling vehicles or environments and I don't see myself becoming those types of artists, I am too dedicated to creating characters and everything that comes with becoming a character artist to switch gears now even if I wanted to I think. I would prefer not to be a lighter simply because I want my job to revolve around making 3D models, but I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world if I did work as a lighter, I have to be a good lighter anyway for the sake of making my characters look as good as they can
3. What are some of the top companies that you are interested in working for?
The top companies I would be interested in working for are Epic Games, Riot Games, Blizzard, Respawn, Airship Syndicate, ID software, Bungie and Insomniac games. I tend to gravitate towards more stylized games. Id love to work on a hero shooter like Overwatch, Marvel rivals, or Valorant. Id like to learn how to get better at realism / semi-realism to broaden my opportunities as well
